This is really an exciting time to be involved in the digital media industry, namely on the web development front. I’m not sure what has happened this year, whether its the financial crisis, the planets aligning or just that moment in time that is a catalyst to the future. It is like the penny has dropped for the real potential of the internet and it’s relationship with rich and interactive media.

The Award Experience:

Last year we entered two of our better web sites into the AIMIA (Australian Interactive Media Industry Association) annual Awards. One for the Best Retail category, the other for Best Tourism. We where happy to find out earlier this year that champagnegallery.com.au had been selected as a finalist for best retail website. To be chosen as a finalist in the company of other sites such as ABC Shop, Mimco, Crumpler and Snowgum was an honour in itself. With this kind of lineup and not having a ‘flashy’ site (which normally get all the accolades over functionality) I thought it was great to be recognised as a finalist.
